January 2012 Comedy Cowboy Cruise Canceled

Howdy Pardners… we are sorry to announce to all of our rootin’ tootin’ pals that were looking forward to cruising with us on the Comedy Cowboy Cruise in January that the event has been canceled due to low pre-sales of the cruise. I guess we can blame it on the uncertain economy, but for those who did pre-register, please know you will receive your full refund from the cruise agent very soon, if you haven’t already.

We certainly appreciate all the efforts put forth by our fearless cruise leader Kermit Duhon and the great folks at Travel Machine, Inc. for all their had work and dedication to promoting this Branson style cruise event.

The good news is that you may still enjoy the exact same cruise aboard the beautiful RCL Voyager of the Seas, just without the extra goodies, parties and live entertainment that would have been included with our private Comedy Cowboy Cruise package.  So, if you are still interested in an affordable, and relaxing cruise of the Western Carribbean this winter, please let the experienced travel agents at Travel Machine, Inc. know that you deserve a winter vacation that you’ll never forget!

Thanks again for your interest, and we’ll see you down the trail!

Voyager of the Seas Makes History in Jamaica

Royal Caribbean Line’s Voyager of the Seas is the beautiful ship that will be hosting the first annual Branson Comedy Cowboy Cruise, and earlier this year, the Voyager of the Seas made history as the first cruise ship ever to sail into Historic Falmouth, Jamaica, one of our exciting and exotic ports of call.

Royal Caribbean had worked for three years in collaboration with the Port Authority of Jamaica to create this new cruise destination, located on the north-coast of Jamaica between Ochos Rios and Montego Bay.  It cost up to $170 million to build, and offers tourists an array of cultural and historical experiences.

“We are delighted to see Voyager of the Seas make the first-ever ship call at Historic Falmouth.  By partnering with the Port Authority of Jamaica, we are working to deliver our shared vision of Falmouth’s rebirth. Together, we are bringing the town’s historic sites to life and integrating the culture and authenticity of this destination into a superior guest experience.”

-Craig Milan, Senior Vice President of Land Operations, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd

Several RCL ships will be calling into the port over the coming months, including Freedom of the Seas, Navigator of the Seas, Allure of the Seas and Oasis of the Seas. A wide variety of shore excursions and experiences are being offered to passengers disembarking at the port such as making and sampling rum at Appleton Estate, swimming with the dolphins at Dolphin Cove or riding on a 30-foot bamboo raft down Martha Brae.

Founded in 1790, the Jamaican port will offer tourists a glimpse into its colonial history with many prominent houses, shops and public buildings constructed in the 18th and 19th centuries still standing.

“Falmouth has an important place in the cultural history of Jamaica. It is especially rewarding for us to use that history as an entrée for a new generation of guests.  Our sights have always been set on being the preeminent cruise destination, and with the best-in-class berthing facilities at the Historic Falmouth port, we’ll now easily welcome the world’s largest ships.”

-Hon Mike Henry, Jamaica’s Minister of Transport and Works

The first phase of revitalization of Historic Falmouth is nearing completion including a two-berth pier which will incorporate retail outlets, restaurants and a transportation centre.

Experience Historic Falmouth, Jamaica in person by joining us for the Branson Comedy Cowboy Cruise to the Western Caribbean aboard the beautiful RCL Voyager of the Seas.  The special theme vacation cruise departs from New Orleans, Louisiana on January 7th, 2012 for one full week of fun in the sun with the Riders of the Circle B, and comedian ventriloquist Jim Barber direct from their live entertainment theaters in Branson, Missouri.

Booking Early Guarantees Your Rate and Cabin Choice

Booking Early Brings Big Savings!

Experienced cruise ship passengers and travel booking agents all agree that in order to get the best travel deal including the cabin of your choice, it’s best to book your vacation well in advance of the trip.

This is especially important if you are wanting to participate in a themed event such as the Branson Comedy Cowboy Cruise which sails on a specific date (January 7-14 2012) and has the lowest introductory rates offered in advance.  As the ship fills up, these prices often go up and you might find yourself disappointed that the moderately priced cabins with a private balcony are sold out leaving something that may cost too much, or may not be the type of accommodations you would prefer. To get the cabin space you desire on the cruise, as well as the necessary flight arrangements, it’s best to reserve your entire trip 9 to 11 months in advance if possible.

Balcony and other prime cabins on the newer luxury ships such as RCL’s Voyager of the Seas tend to sell out quickly, and now that they are being sold for this special January departure cruise, we recommend you book your space as early as possible.

Rising Fuel Prices May Impact Cruise Rates

As you plan to make your reservation for the Branson Comedy Cowboy Cruise,  keep in mind the possibility of future announcements of additional fuel supplement increases. Worldwide fuel prices have continued to climb, and cruise lines will most likely continue to increase their fuel offset charges. So if you are considering joining us for our special theme cruise, it may be best to book now to lock in your rate and fees.

Rising fuel prices are a concern for almost every industry, and Carnival and the other major cruise line Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (NYSE:RCL) are beginning to feel the impact. The stock market’s reaction was to send both stocks down on Carnival’s report. The travel and leisure industry has yet to feel a huge impact, but that could change. – Greg Shusinski, Investopedia.com
